Manhattan Bourough President Scott Stringer will join officials of the Riese Organization and Union Square Partnership upon opening of America's newest TGI Fridays and its 1000th location worldwide. The American institution was founded 45 years ago on New York City's Upper East Side and now is a global phenomenon with restaurants in over 61 countries throughout the world. A ribbon-cutting ceremony will take place this Thursday, July 15 at 1:00 PM at 34 Union Square East (corner of 16th St.). This new, state-of-the-art TGI Friday's will offer local community events and hold charitiable events throughout the year. Over 20 years ago, the film "Cocktail" was filmed in a New York City TGI Friday's and helped launched mega-superstar Tom Cruise's career. The Riese Organization is one of the largest restaurant management companies in the Northeast. The Company owns and operates approximately 100 restaurants in the New York City area. Included in the restaurant portfolio are other nationally known branded concepts such as Tim Hortons, Pizza Hut, and KFC. The Riese Organization also develops its own proprietary concepts including Charley O's, Tad's Steaks and Tequilaville. Located at 560 Fifth Avenue , the Riese Organization is one of the largest private employers in New York City with over 2,000 employees. |

NY State and City of New York to Honor NYC Latin Music Legend and King in Ceremony
NEW YORK STATE AND CITY OF NEW YORK TO HONOR NYC LATIN MUSIC LEGEND AND KING IN CEREMONY MAJOR ANNOUNCEMENT OF TRIBUTE CONCERT IN MAMBO KING'S MEMORY ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- New York State Senate President Malcolm A. Smith, Assemblywoman Carmen E. Arroyo and William Ferro of 1800-Cantaso will join Tito Puente, Jr. in a special ceremony and press conference honoring Latin music king and legend Tito Puente tomorrow, Thursday, July 15 at 4:00 PM at 424 W. 33rd St., Suite 440 in Manhattan, NY. They will be announcing a major tribute concert for Tito Puente featuring some of the nation's best performers will be announced. City of New York officials will be making a special presentation. Hundreds of Latino government, civic, community and business leaders will be attending as well. It has been a decade since the music icon has passed away. Tito Puente was born on April 20, 1923, in New York City. He is best known for the dance-oriented mambo and Latin jazz music he created throughout a musical career spanning over 50 years, during which he recorded 120 albums, composed more than 450 compositions, and had over 2,000 arrangements to his credit. He performed in over 10,000 events around the world. Puente received numerous awards for his work, including five Grammy Awards. He was popularly referred to as "The King of Latin Music" or "El Rey" ("The King"). Tito Puente was featured in the film "The Mambo Kings" as himself. Lady Gaga Leaves Thousands of Fans Hungry At Today Show Concert After Promising Free Pizza

Thousands of fans from all across the nation waiting on line for 24 hours for Lady Gaga's free concert were promised free pizza from Lady Gaga herself on Twitter. The fans went hungry all night long when there was not enough pizza to go around and thousands were glued to their coveted spot and had no food. Jay Zevi of Pizza Packet will be throwing New York City's largest Gaga pizza party for the fans who went cheese less. Over 10,000 slices will be distributed to Lady Gaga fan club members and spectators. A look-a-like contest along with the pizza party will be held today, Friday, July 9 at 12:00 P.M. at Bravo Pizza in Union Square Park at 115 East 14th Street with Jay Zevi of Pizza Packet giving the winner two free tickets to her Madison Square Garden concert tonight. A Gaga Party will take place with thousands of free slices given out to the public as dozens of Lady Gaga impersonators vie for tickets to the sold-out show.
