Call for artists: LIQUID CITIES . NEW YORK
It's LIQUID International Video Art Limousine Festival
Deadline: October 10, 2015

It's LIQUID Group, in collaboration with International ArtExpo, is selecting all interesting experimental video art and short films to include in the next 2015 Exhibition:

LIQUID CITIES - International Video Art Limousine Festival, will be presented in a very experimental art space: a limousine, which will run around the streets of New York. A limousine, 24 exclusive seats, will perform in the center of New York City and passengers will be transported by video art on the 25th of October 2015. The limousine tour will start and arrive from/to the most important places in the city.

At the end of the limousine tour, curated by Luca Curci, all selected videos will be also screened at the XY Atelier Contemporary Art Gallery from the 25th to the 28th of the October 2015, as part of an exhibition curated by Angela Rose Viens and XY Gallery team.

Selection is open to artists, architects and designers, photographers, filmmakers, video makers, associate groups and studios are invited to submit their works of video art and short film. To take part in the selection, send your works' submission with a CV/biography, some still images, links of videos/films via e-mail to lucacurci@lucacurci.com

Deadline for application is October 10, 2015 (11.59 PM of your local time).

The number of works you can submit is unlimited. The participation in the festival requires an entry fee only for selected artworks. The number of works you can submit is unlimited.

It's LIQUID International Video Art Limousine Festival

The XY Atelier Contemporary Art Gallery is a few metres of Central Park and the Empire State Building in New York City.

THE CONCEPT
Contemporary architecture provides representations of a hyper-fast changing world, through new experimentations and generating differences which integrate with the environment. Architecture is no longer conceived as a container of human life but as extensions of the body that produce changes in human behaviour, as integral part of it. All is propagated, expanded, over geographical, cultural, religious and social borders, producing "liquid cities" where differences create new compounds and hybridization between identities and urban environment. People, backgrounds, societies, progress and all their inputs create hybrid identities, changing each other and being mixed to shape a better world.

Selection is open to artists, architects and designers, photographers, filmmakers, video makers, associate groups and studios are invited to submit their works of video art and short film. To take part in the selection, send your works' submission with a CV/biography, some still images, links of videos/films via e-mail to lucacurci@lucacurci.com

Deadline for application is October 10, 2015 (11.59 PM of your local time).

Artists interested in taking part in our shows, are free to be sponsored and supported by institutions, organizations, governments and their representers; the logos of their sponsors will be included in all the communication (digital and print) of the events. Artists are free to take part in one or more of the programmed events.

The number of works you can submit is unlimited. The participation in the festival requires an entry fee only for selected artworks. Participation open to: professional artists, architects and designers, filmmakers, associate groups and studios. The number of works you can submit is unlimited.

Call for artists: LIQUID ROOMS - THE BODY LANGUAGE
It's LIQUID Experimental Art Show

It's LIQUID Group, in collaboration with International ArtExpo, is selecting all interesting photo, paintings, experimental video-art, installations and performance art works to include in the next 2015 exhibition:

LIQUID ROOMS - THE BODY LANGUAGE, the experimental photography, painting, cinema and  performance art festival, that will be hosted in Venice, at Palazzo Ca' Zanardi from the 12th to the 22nd of November 2015. During LIQUID ROOMS there will be the chance for the solo exhibition of photography, video art, installation, painting and performance art, hosted in Palazzo Ca' Zanardi, from the 20th to the 22nd of November 2015.

For the first time in Venice we will give audience the possibility to have private meetings with artists, to meet them personally and share their art and experience. Each event will have a strong program of video art screenings and premiers, art residencies, talks, workshops, live dj set, live experimental dance and art performances.

After many years of research and exhibitions about the evolution of the idea of identity, we ask artists to share their personal tales through artworks; to create a link between the personal experience and the audience; to tell us which are the stories and reasons beneath their works.

The exhibition is organized and curated by Luca Curci (director of It's LIQUID and International ArtExpo) and Andrea Chinellato (director of Ca' Zanardi and Venice Art House), and supported by Comune di Venezia and Provincia di Venezia.

LIQUID ROOMS is an invitation for artists to explore their intimate self and to analyze the relationship between man and space (private and/or public). Opening the doors of their rooms to visitors and crossing the exhibition path through the different venues, artists and audience will disclose and explore the intimate part of their art and beings.

LIQUID ROOMS - THE BODY LANGUAGE is a research about the body, conceived not only as a material organic system, but also as an evolving organism with peculiar sensations, feelings and characteristics, in constant connection with other bodies and space. The human body is what connects us to the world; the first mean which helps us perceive and know the surrounding reality; a strong communication system with its own language and ways of expression. We invited artists not only to show us their idea of body and to celebrate it through art, but also to communicate with us through their bodies.

Selection is open to video art, photography, painting, sculpture/installation, art performance and experimental dance. Artists, photographers, video makers and performers are invited to submit their works and projects. ITF backs unions' resistance to Burkina Faso coup

The ITF (International Transport Workers' Federation) is condemning the coup by the presidential guard in Burkina Faso and backing trade unions who are launching an aviation strike tomorrow to protest against it.

 

ITF general secretary Steve Cotton said:  "We applaud the bravery and commitment of our brother and sister trade unionists in Burkina Faso, as they act against this reckless and aggressive military action. We totally condemn this coup, which has overthrown the interim president and the transitional government and which threatens the democratic right of Burkina Faso's people to vote in the government elections which were due to be held on 11 October."

 

He continued: "This coup threatens the country's stability and raises the real possibility of further deaths. Trade unions in Burkina Faso play an important role in fighting for justice and democracy and are united in wanting to see an immediate end to this coup."

 

ITF president Paddy Crumlin added: "We urge the immediate release of interim president Michel Kafando and prime minister Isaac Zida. "

 

"Ouagadougou is the ITF's regional centre for the Francophone and Ecowas countries and we are in close contact with our staff there, whose safety is of great concern to us."

 

He concluded: "We join the United Nations, African Union and Ecowas in their condemnations of this dangerous and reckless putsch. The junta must step down now before further damage is done to Burkina Faso's democratic future."
