Art in Redlight, Sparkling Art Fair in Amsterdam Redlight district

Art in Redlight 8th edition

Sparkling Art Fair in Amsterdam Redlight district

At the end of September there is a promising art weekend in Amsterdam, with the new photo exhibition Unseen, the relaunch of the Stedelijk Museum, Inside Design and as icing on the cake for the eighth time Art in Redlight, a bubbly sales exhibition with sixty selected international artists.

In the Old Church in Amsterdam are 20 t/m 23 September hundreds of new works of art, photographs, jewelry, design, paintings and videos to see and buy.

Art in Redlight, the independent art fair, in short AIR8, are again experiencing the eighth edition. It is an art fair in a unique location: The Old Church in Amsterdam Red light district of the capital.

Art in Redlight is the forerunner in the demand of Amsterdam to bring more culture in this oldest piece of the City. In order to honor this Alderman Lodewijk Asscher will open the fair at 21th September at 16.00 hours.

AIR8 aims at the new art buyer who wants to come directly in contact with the artist. Many of the artists themselves are present next to the gallery owners. Art in Redlight is known for a large club of lovers, followers and buyers and looking for an even bigger audience.

Therefore AIR8 introduced some extra disciplines like; art design, jewellery design and fashion photography.

The Foundation Art in Redlight selects the entries of the participants and is looking for surprises, whims and sincerity of work. She follows her own path, without regard of name, fame, age and origin of the artist. While it is an Independent Art Fair, the presentation is beautifully done, in the completely restored the 14th century Gothic church with striking much light.

To Art in Redlight is an auction for charity connected. On Sunday 23 September auctioneer Jan Pieter Glerum auctions works from the participating artists In the run-up to the auction these works can be seen on various locations in the Wallen area.

AIR allows its yield on Orange Babies, a Dutch foundation that cares about pregnant African women who are infected with HIV.

This year for the following artists among others selected AIR8: Steve Johnson, Katerina Belkina, Uday Shanbhag, Alexis Milne, Marcel Pinas, Otazu, Horst a. Friedrichs, Kuswidinanto, Ingmar Swalue , Jompet and Paul Heijnen.
