Spatial dress by Laura Papp Laura Papp - fashion designer Laura Papp has graduated as a Master of Fashion Design at the Moholy - Nagy University of Art and Design in Budapest. She has worked as a trainee for half a year in Berlin at the Olbrish Produkt GmbH, a well-known German company dealing with accessory design where she had the opportunity to design handbags for men. This experience really suited her as she obtained the Bachelor degree in Accessory Design. She has created different kind of fashion products. Her dresses take inspiration from the Bauhaus and they consist of two parts: Planar Dress and Spatial Dress. The first kind is formed by the light, with the help of the transparency. The materials are translucent linen and synthetic. The geometric shapes are formed by folding, and this is a reminder of the world of Bauhaus. The natural colours and the raw materials are very important. In the second, the Spatial Dress, the emphasis is on the shape of it. There is no cutting or sewing but they have been made from a single rectangle piece and are fitted with snap at some points. The main thing about the beige dress is the brave shaping, which is a reminder to geometry of the Bauhaus design. The Porcelain Shoes created by Laura Papp take inspiration from different stone surfaces, the various dripstones and the famous church La Sagrada Familia by Antoni Gaudi. The goal is to reproduce the rustic feature on the heels. The designer imagine it in white, because it shows up the plastics best. Finally, three pairs of shoes made from different formes. The upper part is made of leather, which make contrast with the platform. The homogeny and the rustic are reinforce each other. The sole of the shoes was made of rubber. Inspired to the Pop-up, she has also wanted made shoes that are completely planes, and adjusting to the shape of the feet by wearing them. The shoes are made using special patterns. She has cut in different places and shaped in the shoe sole, and this gives the final form and character to the shoe. The cutting line determines how the shoes will hug around the feetand the direction cutting line makes the design. The soles of the shoes, produced with leather, are strongly geometric. The handle is fold through itself in the design of two bags. It results in a dynamic shape of the first bag and solves the closing of it at the same time. In the case of the second bag the technique resulte in giving two pockets a smaller and a larger one. The shape of the Wooden Handle follows the form of the bag, creating harmony in the unit. In the case of the Origami Bags the folding has been the inspiration. She has wanted to create objects of leather with similar shapes, with different folding. Finally she has designed a small leather Pen Holder for her friend as a gift; putting a powerful twist into the form of it and the the zipper into it in an "S", she has obteined a dynamic form.
