LONDON, April 1 /PRNewswire/ -- Those indulging in the odd chocolate egg over Easter might start thinking
about going on a diet to atone for their seasonal sins. However, choosing the
right diet can some times be tricky, particularly when you can't tell fact
from fiction!
In a recent Brand Awareness Survey commissioned by leading internet-based
diet sinandslim.com, fictional diet FatFighters (featured in cult BBC comedy
Little Britain) was quoted as a better-known brand than some of the leading
diet plans on the market.
When asked to say which diet plans they had heard of, 6% of women
questioned spontaneously gave FatFighters as one of their answers, making the
diet club sketch, led by uncouth diet instructor Marjorie Dawes, better known
than real diet brands, such as the South Beach Diet.
The survey also revealed that the dynamic new brand Sin and Slim has
jumped straight in at number ten of the top twenty 'real' diet brands
spontaneously mentioned by women. Less than two years after launching, Sin
and Slim is already ranked more highly than brands such as Kellogg's Drop a
Jean size.
Nick Mason, spokesperson for sinandslim.com says: "We were shocked to see
that FatFighters had featured so prominently in the survey. We can only
assume that people think that Marjorie Dawes' abusive behaviour is what some
church-hall weigh-ins clubs are really like! The Sin & Slim plan couldn't be
more different. It is all done via the internet and the on-line weigh-in is
just a chance to have a private chat over the internet with your friends or
work colleagues"
