Genesis Building Rolls Royce Car Design Competition Submission Deadline: March 31, 2014 Result Announcement: April 30, 2014 Application of design of Rolls Royce in Hong Kong: June 21-30, 2014   Hip Shing Hong Group of Companies, in collaboration with Stefano Tordiglione Design Ltd and It's LIQUID Group, is proud to present "Genesis Building Rolls Royce Car Competition".   Genesis is a factory-building-turned-office project in Wong Chuk Hang, Hong Kong. The building is now undergoing extensive design and renovation to revitalize the site into an art and creativity hub. With the purpose of rejuvenating the premises with modern energy and fitting it with a contemporary design, this old building is once again fulfilling the needs of modern life.   The concept of the current design of the building includes the elements of the 70′s design, the era when the building was initially built. Joining hands with Italian interior designer Stefano Tordiglione, the building incorporates Italian and Hong Kong 70′s design elements, transforming the old into new, blending the East with West. It will be the new cultural identity of Island South of Hong Kong, a landmark of its own personality.   Purpose The Rolls Royce car is a part of the design to be displayed in the lobby of the building Genesis.   Artists are invited to re-work on the design of the body of the car. The purpose is to encompass the theme of 'Innovation', 'Energy' and 'Creativity', and at the same time, retain the elegance and luxurious identity of the premises.   Awards - 1 Gold Award: HKD 20,000/EUR 2,000 with car display at the lobby of Genesis - 1 Silver Award: HKD 10,000/EUR 1,000 - 1 Bronze Award: HKD 5,000/EUR 500 - 3 Design of Excellence Awards: HKD 2,500/EUR 250   Who can apply? Late submissions will not be considered.   How does it work? If the winner of the Gold Award is from Italy, the Organizer will provide round-trip economy class air ticket plus accommodation and pocket money of HKD 5,000/EUR 500 to the winner to facilitate the ten-day stay in Hong Kong to apply the winning design on the Rolls Royce car. This arrangement is not offered to Hong Kong artist because the artist is already residing in Hong Kong. Call for Artists: BorderBody - Mixing Identities, Italy / Spain International video-art, photography, installation and performing art festival 1st Deadline: January 08, 2014 2nd Deadline: January 20, 2014 International ArtExpo is selecting all interesting photo works, video/short films, installations and performing art works to include in the next 2014 exhibitions: "BorderBody - Mixing Identities" international art festival of photography, video art, installation and performing art which will be held in Almeria (Spain), at MECA Mediterráneo Centro Artístico, during the 7 and the 21 of February 2014 (video screening only), and in prestigious Palazzo Barone Ferrara in Bari (Italy), from the 13 to the 21 of February 2014. "BorderBody" exhibitions cycle is conceived as a diffused and nomadic festival in different places of the world. "Mixing Identities", the second chapter of this 3-event cycle, is focused on the hybridization of social identities. In contemporary societies boundaries are getting more and more fleeting, and also the identity, that makes each person or place a recognizable entity, turns out fluid and multiple. Cultural, religious, ethnic borders become changeable too. This change, this mutation has allowed to cross the inside of the identities, creating new possible crossings, new blends. There is no more limit between an identity and the other one but it is possible to walk, to cross a passage and to find oneself halfway through it, in a non-place, in a non-identity. The event is open to photography, video art, installation and performing art. Exhibition at MECA (Spain) is open to video art only. Palazzo Barone Ferrara is a magnificent historic building of XIX century, symbol of importance and progress of the city. Located in the centre of Bari, is the headquarters and exhibition space of Banca Apulia bank. MECA Mediterráneo Centro Artístico, is one of the contemporary art galleries more active and consolidated in Spain.
