JON LIOW The Jon Liow is a Melbourne-based designer who is passionate about products that function; products that enable; products that solve problems; and products that inspire. He believes in using design to create beauty in every part of life. Whether it's on the dining table of the rich and famous, or the dirty floor of the poor and needy. He believes design can make a difference. Flex Bench Top Bin is a bench top bin that promotes neat cooking preparation, easy disposal of chopping board debris, and is willing to take anything else you may want to throw at (into) it. The one-piece, seamless body is washable, easy to clean, and its open sides allow for greater capacity. More importantly, the flexible frame allows you to use a wide variety of bag sizes, meaning you don't waste time trying to find a bag that fits your bin. Stress less, cook more. "As a child, I remember being taught how to lean freshly toasted slices of bread against each other, in order to aerate the hot slices and allow them to become crispy. This going against the common practice of throwing them flat onto a plate straight out of the toaster resulting in cold, soggy slices of bread. Anyone who has caught on to this practice knows how hard it can sometimes be to stand two slices of toast up on the slippery surface of a clean plate". The Lean dish is designed with this simple function in mind. Two subtle ridges are raised just high enough, and spaced just far enough apart, to support a varying range of bread slice sizes. It also works as a fully functional and ergonomic plate. Here's to crispy toast. Inspired by the simplicity of classic timetellers, the Ambigu wall clock presents time through minimalism and pure function. The stark colours and surfaces present a clean aesthetic, allowing environmental light to highlight the raised faces of the hour markers. Modern design and architecture often neglects organic form and influence, often attacking spaces and table tops with bold, invasive objects. The Fluid vase expresses a fusion of modern art and organic form and surfacing. The inside is tapered to provide a common point of rest for stems, encouraging them to fan outwards into a natural resting position. more. www.jonliow.com | info: hello@jonliow.com It's LIQUID News is an e-mail announcement service that provides information about exhibitions at some of the world's leading art galleries selected.
