Finalists Announced for the First Heritage in Motion Awards
Winners will be announced on 25 April at the Burrell Collection in Glasgow.
The Hague, 26 March 2014. This year marks the birth of a new award, an award to highlight multimedia use at cultural heritage in Europe -The Heritage in Motion Awards. This competition will give a stage to the creators and producers of films, games, apps and websites on themes related to Europe’s heritage, cultural and natural, tangible and intangible. Heritage in Motion grants awards and celebrates the best multimedia achievements and products -through varied, creative and innovative means, in order to draw attention to the value of Europe’s cultural and natural heritage in all its facets.
Finalists: The finalists of the first Heritage in Motion Awards are:

The winners of the Heritage in Motion Awards will be announced at the Burrell Collection in Glasgow Friday 25 April 2014. The first Heritage in Motion Awards will be presented at the annual conference of the European Museum Academy, this year in Glasgow with the co-operation of Glasgow Museums and Glasgow Life.
About Heritage in Motion: Cultural heritage is everywhere around us, but often remains unnoticed. Nowadays we are used to the fact that buildings are restored, landscapes are protected and certain folk art traditions are preserved in our society. However, cultural heritage changes with new generations: everything that is beautiful is also very vulnerable and needs to be protected, in order to remain accessible in the future.
Europa Nostra and the European Museum Academy have taken the initiative jointly to launch Heritage in Motion. These two founding partner organizations felt the need to gather the best multimedia products and achievements at a European event, focusing specifically on themes related to the safeguarding and promotion of Europe’s heritage.
About the European Museum Academy: The European Museum Academy is a non-profit Foundation established to reflect museums at the international level, to promote research on museography and museology as a high cultural activity, to provide constructive criticism and promote discussion on new exhibitions and museums, and to diffuse museological knowledge and ideas among members of the profession. It aims to promote the conception and development of new as well as of traditional museums as tools of social change. More than 30 countries are currently represented within the organization.

Its extensive European network covers almost 50 countries in Europe. It is composed of 250 member organizations (heritage associations and foundations with a combined membership of more than 5 million people), 150 associated organizations (governmental bodies, local authorities and corporations) and also 1500 individual members who directly support their mission.
